Mangaluru Trains to be Affected from 15 June Until 20 October to Ensure Safer Operations during Monsoon

Passengers travelling by trains through the Mangaluru Railway Region will need to note changes in train schedules from June 15. The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has introduced its annual monsoon timetable, which will remain in effect until October 20. The revised schedule has been implemented to ensure safer train operations during the rainy season.

List of Mangaluru Trains to be Affected

Under the new timetable, several trains will depart earlier or later than their usual timings. Train No. 12620 Mangaluru Central-Mumbai LTT Matsyagandha Express will now leave Mangaluru Central at 12:45 pm instead of 2:20 pm. Similarly, Train No. 12134 Mangaluru Junction-Mumbai CSMT Superfast Express will depart at 4:35 pm instead of 2:00 pm.

Moreover, the Madgaon-Mangaluru Central MEMU Express with Train No. 10107 will leave Madgaon at 4:40 am instead of 4:00 am. The Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Express with Train No. 20645 will now depart at 5:35 pm instead of 6:10 pm. The Madgaon-Mangaluru Central Passenger train will leave five minutes later than its regular schedule.

Many long-distance trains originating from Kerala and passing through Mangaluru Junction will also operate under revised timings. These include services to Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh, Rishikesh, Amritsar, Jamnagar, Gandhidham, Indore, Porbandar, Hisar, Madgaon, and Mumbai. Some of these trains will start their journeys several hours earlier than usual to accommodate speed restrictions imposed during the monsoon season.

Reason behind Revised Train Timings

The annual monsoon timetable is introduced by Konkan Railway as a safety measure due to heavy rainfall, waterlogging, and landslides that can affect train operations along the route. By adjusting train schedules, railway authorities aim to maintain safe and smooth services during the rainy months.

Passengers are advised to check the latest train timings on the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) website before starting their journey to avoid any inconvenience.
