Pune Metro Phase 2 has moved a step closer to reality as the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited has invited tenders to appoint consultants for 14 new elevated Metro stations. These stations are planned along two upcoming corridors in the eastern and south-eastern parts of the city. The bids for selecting consultants will be opened on March 5, 2026.

Consultancy Work on New Metro Lines
The consultancy work is related to two new Metro lines: Line 4B and Line 4C. Line 4B will connect Hadapsar to Loni Kalbhor, while Line 4C will run from Hadapsar to the Saswad Road railway station. Together, these corridors are expected to expand Pune's Metro network and help address growing traffic problems in rapidly developing areas.
Hadapsar-Loni Kalbhor Corridor
The Hadapsar-Loni Kalbhor corridor will be about 11.35 km long and will include 10 elevated stations. These stations will be located at Hadapsar Phata, Hadapsar Bus Depot, Akashwani-Hadapsar, Laxmi Colony, Stud Farm, Manjari Phata, Grape Growers' Association, Toll Naka, Wak Wasti, and Loni Kalbhor. This stretch is expected to improve daily travel for residents and workers in these busy suburbs.
Hadapsar to Saswad Road Corridor
The second corridor, from Hadapsar to Saswad Road, will be 5.57 km long and will have four elevated stations. These stations will come up at Hadapsar Gliding Centre, Fursungi IT Park, Sulabh Garden, and Saswad Road railway station. Areas like Fursungi and Saswad Road are seeing rapid growth in industries and housing, and the Metro is expected to offer a reliable alternative to overcrowded roads.
Appointing detailed design consultants is an important early step before construction begins. These experts will plan station designs, structures, passenger movement, and smooth links with nearby roads and transport systems, ensuring the new Metro corridors are efficient and commuter-friendly.
