While addressing, MD Sushil Kumar shared a confident and hopeful vision for the future. He said that the metro network in Uttar Pradesh is growing rapidly and shows no signs of slowing down. He added that UPMRC has an important role to play in helping India become a developed nation by 2047. He also pointed out that Uttar Pradesh currently stands third in the world in terms of metro network size and is expected to move to second place soon.
Republic Day celebrations also focused on serving society. A large blood donation camp was organised at Motijheel Metro Station to highlight the spirit of public service. Both citizens and metro employees participated actively. The camp was organised with the support of Sankalp Seva Samiti, Big FM, and IIT Kanpur.
Uttar Pradesh Metro Expansion
UPMRC also shared its plans for metro expansion across the state. Kanpur is expected to have a metro network of about 200 km, while Lucknow's network may expand to 225 km. Cities such as Agra, Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Noida will also see major metro development. Smaller cities like Ayodhya, Mathura, and Jhansi are planned to get metro routes of around 50 km each.
Along with expansion, UPMRC has achieved high efficiency. In cities like Kanpur and Agra, the metro system is safe, punctual, and cost-effective, setting strong national standards and moving steadily towards profitability.
