IndiGo has launched direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, its 35th international destination. Scheduled four times a week, this new route aims to boost tourism and trade between India and the Indian Ocean nation, underscoring the airline's commitment to expanding connectivity.

IndiGo has expanded its international reach by introducing direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, marking its 35th international destination. The service began on November 19, with flights scheduled four times a week, enhancing connectivity between India and the Indian Ocean island nation. This addition to IndiGo's network signifies its growing presence in Africa, following the launch of flights to Nairobi, Kenya, from Mumbai earlier in August. The airline's expansion into Mauritius not only caters to the growing demand for tourism but also aims to stimulate trade and commercial relations within the Indian Ocean region.

The inaugural flight, which lasted approximately five and a half hours, signifies a new era of travel between India and Mauritius, promising to strengthen the profound cultural, political, and economic ties between the two regions. IndiGo's decision to connect Bengaluru with Mauritius reflects the airline's commitment to facilitating travel and fostering closer connections across its expanding network. "It gives us immense pleasure in announcing the commencement of direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, the Indian Ocean Island nation. India and Mauritius share profound cultural, political, and economic ties, and these flights would further strengthen the bond. With the convenience of visa-on-arrival for Indian passport holders, this new route presents promising prospects for both leisure as well as business. IndiGo remains steadfast in delivering on its promise of an affordable, punctual, courteous, and seamless travel experience across an unparalleled network," stated Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo.

Flight 6E1861 from IndiGo is set to leave Bengaluru at 3:20 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, arriving in Mauritius at 7:45 am local time. The return flight will take off from Mauritius at 9:30 am and reach Bengaluru by 4:45 pm. This schedule offers travelers the convenience of planning their trips with ease, allowing them to explore Mauritius' natural beauty and cultural heritage. Mauritius is celebrated for its pristine beaches, clear waters, and lush landscapes, making it a haven for nature lovers and adventurers. The island's rich cultural diversity and harmonious society, alongside its favorable business environment and focus on innovation, make it a compelling destination for both tourists and business professionals.

The island's strategic importance is highlighted by its business-friendly climate, which encourages foreign investment and prioritizes technological advancement. Mauritius' combination of economic opportunities and scenic beauty positions it as an attractive location for travelers seeking both leisure and business engagements. IndiGo's new route is expected to further boost the island's connectivity with India, offering a direct link to Bengaluru and potentially increasing tourist and business exchanges.

IndiGo, with its fleet of over 380 aircraft, operates across 85 domestic and 30 international destinations, providing more than 2100 flights daily. Holding a dominant 63 percent share of the domestic market, according to the latest Directorate General of Civil Aviation data, the airline continues to enhance its international footprint. This initiative aligns with IndiGo's mission to offer an extensive network of flights, characterized by affordability, punctuality, and a courteous travel experience. Travelers looking to explore Mauritius can make their bookings through IndiGo's official website or mobile app, benefiting from the airline's expanded service offerings.

Mauritius' Port Louis airport also serves as a gateway for travelers from Mumbai, with existing flights operated by Air Mauritius and Air India. This new service by IndiGo is set to complement the existing connections, providing more options for passengers traveling between India and Mauritius, and underscoring the growing importance of the Indian Ocean region as a key destination for tourism and business.
