The Indian Railways has launched its third Vande Bharat Express for Kerala, connecting Ernakulam and Bengaluru with a faster and more comfortable travel option. This new train service will operate three days a week, enhancing connectivity between these two important cities.

Train Schedule and Route
The Vande Bharat Express will run on the Ernakulam to Bengaluru route, with services available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. It will depart from Ernakulam Junction at 12:50 PM and arrive in Bengaluru at 10:00 PM. For the return journey, the train will leave Bengaluru Cantt at 5:30 AM and reach Ernakulam Junction at 2:20 PM.
During its journey, the train will make stops at several key stations, including Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tirupur, Erode, and Salem. This route is designed to make travel more convenient for passengers traveling between Kerala and Karnataka.
Fare and Ticket Classes
The new Vande Bharat Express offers two classes of travel. For the AC Chair Car, the fare is ₹1,465, while the Executive Chair Car costs ₹2,945. These prices reflect the premium services provided on this high-speed train, which is known for its modern amenities and comfort.
Benefits for Passengers
This new service is particularly beneficial for Malayalis working in Bengaluru's IT sector. The Vande Bharat Express is designed for speeds up to 180 km/h, making it the fastest option on this route, despite some track limitations. The introduction of this train aims to offer a quicker and more comfortable alternative for those traveling between Kerala and Bengaluru.
Other Vande Bharat Express Trains in Kerala
Kerala already has two other Vande Bharat Express trains:
1. Kasaragod to Trivandrum Central: This train, numbered 20633, runs between Kasaragod and Trivandrum Central. It stops at major stations such as Kannur, Kozhikode, Shoranur, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chengannur, and Kollam. It departs Kasaragod at 2:30 PM and arrives in Trivandrum at 10:40 PM.
2. Mangalore to Trivandrum Central: The Vande Bharat Express 20631 operates between Mangalore Central and Trivandrum Central. It covers stations like Kollam, Kottayam, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, and Kannur. The train journey takes about 8 hours and 40 minutes.
Both of these trains offer a comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers traveling within Kerala.
