Anuraag, a resident of the state of Rajasthan, slipped while descending from a camp at about 6,000 meters (19,600 feet). He slipped and collided into a crevasse between Camps III and II while descending.

Following Malu's disappearance, a thorough search for him was started, according to Mingma Sherpa (Chairman of Seven Summit Treks) which led the trekking expedition. However, they said that they had not been able to find him as of Monday evening and that they planned to look for him again on Tuesday.
Anurag was discovered in a deep crevasse at a height of around 5800 metres on Thursday morning after a search effort involving a helicopter & a team of 6 Sherpa climbers commanded by Chhang Dawa Sherpa. He was originally airlifted to Kathmandu for additional treatment after being transferred to the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara.
He was flown to Kathmandu and is now in critical condition at the Medicity Hospital in the Lalitpur district's Bhaisepati. The weather was so bad that day that it was nearly impossible to shift Maloo from Kathmandu, but the well trained pilots tackled the weather succesfully and able to fly to Manipal Hospital, Pokhara.
Anurag is still unconscious, and his health is in danger. The moment Anurag's family learned of his rescue, they breathed a sigh of relief. Anurag, according to them, has a new life. But given the reports of his severe condition, they are still worried.
