fifth coordination committee meeting held at the mini secretariat, chaired by DS Dhesi, the principal advisor for urban development. Officials, including GMDA CEO PC Meena and Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar, were also present.

Revision of Plans

During the meeting, the committee also reviewed plans to improve road links from the Greater Southern Peripheral Road (GSPR) to Sohna, the CRPF campus, and the jail complex. Work to acquire the required land for these road links is currently in progress.

GMDA officials shared that land acquisition for the outer sector road network will now be treated as a priority. The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTP) has already issued a notification for the development of the GSPR and is moving ahead with the acquisition process.

A senior GMDA official explained that the first phase of work will focus on improving road connectivity between Sector 58 and Sector 63A. The DTP will first identify the land needed. After the land acquisition officer secures it, the land will be handed over to GMDA, which will then begin construction. The committee has also asked the DTP to study the proposed route for the first phase and report on its feasibility.

Progress of New Metro Corridor

The progress of the new metro corridor was another important point of discussion. To expedite land acquisition, the Haryana government has formed an 11-member committee to negotiate directly with landowners. GMRL will cover the cost of land acquisition. The meeting also discussed the repair and upgrading of city roads. GMDA stated that patch repair work worth ₹3.7 crore for Sectors 1 to 23 is currently awaiting approval.
