Yesvantpur-Katihar Weekly Special Train: Indian Railways has Decided to Expand its Operations

Indian Railways has recently announced the extension of operations of weekly special trains with revised timings across important corridors, which have the possibility of experiencing heavy passenger rush during the festival season from Dasara, Deepavali, up to Chhath Puja. The Yesvantpur-Katihar-Yesvantpur Weekly Special Express train will continue offering services to help passengers commute comfortably during the peak festive season.

Yesvantpur-Katihar Weekly Special Train

The Yesvantpur-Katihar Special will run for 10 trips from September 22 to November 24. It will depart from Yesvantpur at 7.00 a.m. every Tuesday.

During its journey, the train will reach Duvvada at 3.35 a.m. and depart at 3.37 a.m. It will arrive at Kottavalasa at 4.23 a.m. and leave at 4.25 a.m. The train will reach Vizianagaram at 5.00 a.m. and depart at 5.10 a.m. It will then arrive at Srikakulam Road at 5.58 a.m. and leave at 6.00 a.m. At Palasa, the train will arrive at 7.45 a.m. and depart at 7.47 a.m. It will finally reach Katihar at 6.00 a.m. on Thursdays.

For the return journey, the Katihar-Yesvantpur Special will operate for 10 trips from September 25 to November 27. The train will leave Katihar at 5.15 a.m. every Friday.
On Saturdays, the return service will reach Palasa at 1.48 a.m. and depart at 1.50 a.m. It will arrive at Srikakulam Road at 2.48 a.m., Vizianagaram at 3.40 a.m., Kottavalasa at 4.13 a.m., and Duvvada at 5.33 a.m. The train will complete its journey by reaching Yesvantpur at 4.00 a.m. on Sundays.

The extended service is intended to accommodate passengers travelling during the festive period and provide additional connectivity between Yesvantpur, Andhra Pradesh, and Katihar.
