South Western Railway (SWR) has announced that it will run special unreserved MEMU trains between KSR Bengaluru and Ashokapuram (near Mysuru) to handle the extra crowd expected during weekends and the Sri Satya Sai Baba centenary celebrations at Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam. These special trains are meant to make

travel easier for passengers during this busy period.
Special Train Services
The trains will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from November 14 to December 28. However, they will not run on November 21, 22, and 23. SWR has fixed specific timings for these services. Train number 06213 will start from KSR Bengaluru at 12:15 p.m. and reach Ashokapuram at 3:40 p.m. The return service, train number 06214, will leave Ashokapuram at 4:10 p.m. and arrive at KSR Bengaluru at 8:00 p.m.
Major Stops
These trains will stop at several stations along the way so that more passengers can use the service. The halts include Krishnadevaraya Halt, Nayandahalli, Jnanabharathi Halt, Kengeri, Hejjala, Bidadi, Ketohalli, Ramanagaram, Channapatna, Settihalli, Nidaghatta Halt, Maddur, Hanakere, Mandya, Yeliyur, Byadarahalli, Pandavapura, Shrirangapattana, Naganahalli, Mysuru, and finally Chamarajapuram.
Why are Special MEMU Trains Running?
The purpose of running these special MEMU trains is to ease travel for people attending the celebrations and for weekend commuters who usually face heavy rush on the Bengaluru-Mysuru route. Since the trains are unreserved, passengers can board with regular unreserved tickets, making the service simple and accessible for everyone.
SWR hopes these additional services will provide comfortable and timely travel during the festive and peak travel weeks. Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel according to the timetable and make use of these temporary trains while they are available.
