Visakhapatnam Seeks Faster Travel with Vande Bharat Express to Bengaluru and Tirupati

At a recent DRUCC (District Rail Users' Consultative Committee) meeting in Visakhapatnam, local leaders and railway users asked Indian Railways to start new Vande Bharat train services connecting Visakhapatnam with Bengaluru and Tirupati. These proposals were made to improve travel options and cut down long journey times between these major cities.

Vande Bharat to Bengaluru & Tirupati

Participants at the meeting said that while Visakhapatnam already has some high-speed trains, there is strong passenger demand for more direct connections, especially to Bengaluru and Tirupati. People travelling to these destinations currently have to rely on regular express trains, which take significantly longer. A Vande Bharat service, they argued, would offer faster, more comfortable travel with modern facilities, making it easier for business travellers, tourists, and families.

Railway officials at the DRUCC meet took note of these suggestions. They acknowledged the demand and discussed the feasibility of such new routes. There was optimism that the proposals could be considered seriously, though no official timeline or approval was announced at that time.

Rail Connectivity

Local representatives also pointed out that better rail connectivity could boost economic activity and tourism in the region. Visakhapatnam is a growing city with increasing passenger traffic, and many feel that enhanced train services would support its development. The meeting was seen as an important step in raising these connectivity issues directly with the railway authorities.

Request for Faster Travel

Moreover, passengers and officials at the Visakhapatnam DRUCC meeting requested new Vande Bharat Express trains linking Visakhapatnam to Bengaluru and Tirupati to provide faster, more convenient rail travel. The proposals are now expected to be studied further by the railways.
