Mumbai Metro Line-3, the Aqua Line, has started offering free WiFi at all its stations. This decision was made soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the underground metro route earlier this month. In the first few days of service, many passengers complained that mobile networks were weak inside the

stations. To solve this problem, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) introduced free WiFi so that commuters can stay connected and have a smoother journey.
Wifi Facility in Metro Stations
With this WiFi facility, passengers can easily browse the internet, make WiFi calls, use WhatsApp, and even book tickets online without using their mobile data. MMRC believes that this will reduce long queues at ticket counters and encourage more people to use digital tickets.
How to Use Free Wifi?
To use the free WiFi, commuters need to download the MetroConnect3 app. After logging in, they must select the 'MetroConnect3' network from their phone's WiFi settings. Then, by tapping "connect to wifi" in the app, they will get free internet access.
WhatsApp-Based Ticketing
Besides WiFi, MMRC has also introduced WhatsApp-based ticketing on Line-3. This new option allows commuters to buy metro tickets directly through WhatsApp, without downloading any additional app. With help from Meta, passengers can generate up to six QR code tickets at once. They can pay using UPI or other methods, although card payments may include small charges.
Powered by PeLocal Fintech Private Limited, MMRC Managing Director Ashwini Bhide stated that these digital services have made an effort to provide faster, easier, and eco-friendly travel for everyone. With these new features, Mumbai Metro Line-3 aims to make daily commuting more modern and convenient.
