Delhi residents may finally get some relief from the intense heat, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain and thunderstorms for the city. According to the forecast, Delhi is likely to witness a partly cloudy sky with chances of very light to light rainfall, thunder, lightning, and

strong winds, especially during the afternoon and evening. Wind speeds may reach around 40-50 kmph and could gust up to 60 kmph in some areas.
Delhi Weather Change
The expected change in weather is likely to make conditions more comfortable for people who have been dealing with hot and humid days in the capital. Over the last few days, Delhi has been experiencing high temperatures along with sticky humidity, making the temperature much higher than the actual reading. Rain and gusty winds are expected to bring temporary respite from these uncomfortable conditions.
Delhi Rain Alert
The IMD has said that the maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to stay around 37 to 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain close to 26 to 28 degrees Celsius. Though the rain may not be heavy, even light showers could help lower the temperature slightly and improve the weather for a while. Similar weather conditions are also expected in nearby NCR areas such as Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad.
Advisory for Residents
However, the relief may only be temporary. Delhi is still in the middle of the summer season, and humid weather is likely to continue even if the rain brings down the temperature for a short time. People have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid standing under trees or near weak structures, and keep an eye on weather updates before stepping out.
