Several parts of Delhi are set to witness scheduled power outages on June 20 as distribution company BSES undertakes maintenance, feeder inspections and network strengthening works across multiple areas. The shutdowns are expected to remain temporary and are being carried out to support uninterrupted electricity supply and improve network reliability during the peak summer season.

Residents in affected localities are advised to plan essential work in advance, charge electronic devices and keep backup arrangements ready before the scheduled shutdown windows.
Why Is There A Power Cut In Delhi Today?
According to the scheduled maintenance plan, electricity supply disruptions have been planned across select areas of South and West Delhi. The works include LT circuit maintenance, transformer upgrades, RMU maintenance, feeder inspections and laying of new LTAB circuits.
Power interruptions in most locations are expected to last from around 45 minutes to three hours depending on the maintenance activity and local division schedule.

Among the key affected locations:
- Hauz Khas
- Nizamuddin
- Mundka
- Palam
- Dwarka
- Khanpur
- Mohan Garden
- Nangloi
- Tagore Garden
Additional neighbourhoods across these divisions may also experience temporary interruptions during maintenance hours.
Area-Wise Shutdown Schedule
Hauz Khas
- Parts of S.I.A. No. 4 are expected to face power interruption from 3:55 PM to 5:25 PM due to LT circuit maintenance work.
Nizamuddin
- Power supply may remain affected in Pragati Maidan between 2:01 PM and 2:46 PM for RMU maintenance. In another scheduled shutdown, parts of Lodhi Colony (Block 7) may face interruptions from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Palam
- Areas including Indira Park, Kailash Puri, Mahavir Enclave, Nanda Block and Raj Nagar-II are expected to face outages between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM because of maintenance and network upgrade work.
Dwarka
- Consumers in Uttam Vihar (Bindapur) may experience supply interruption from 10:06 AM to 12:06 PM.
Mundka
- Areas including Laxmi Park Colony, Ranihola and parts of Ratan Bagh may witness outages between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM due to laying of new LTAB circuits.
Other Areas Under Maintenance
- Shutdown schedules have also been listed for parts of Tagore Garden, Nangloi, Mohan Garden and Khanpur under transformer work, preventive maintenance and feeder-related upgrades.
Advisory For Residents
With Delhi continuing to witness warm and humid conditions, residents are advised to:
- Charge phones, laptops and power banks beforehand
- Store sufficient water where motor dependency exists
- Avoid running high-load appliances during restoration hours
- Keep backup lighting arrangements ready
The utility authorities said the maintenance activity is aimed at reducing unexpected breakdowns and strengthening electricity supply across the affected divisions.
