Delhi NCR Rain Alert: Several Regions of Delhi NCR to Receive Light to Heavy Rainfall on 19 June

Delhi-NCR residents may get some relief from the heat on June 19 as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across the region. The weather is expected to remain partly cloudy during the day, with temperatures likely to touch 40°C to 42°C in several areas.

Delhi NCR Rain Alert

According to the IMD forecast, different parts of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad may witness very light to light rainfall. Rain activity is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. In many areas, wind speeds may reach 40-50 kmph and gust up to 60 kmph. Some locations could even experience stronger winds of 50-60 kmph, gusting up to 70 kmph, especially during the night.

The weather department has indicated that rain chances may begin from the forenoon and continue into the afternoon and evening in some parts of the National Capital Region. While rainfall may not be widespread, scattered showers are expected to provide temporary relief from the hot and humid conditions.

Delhi Weather Temperatures

The maximum temperature is expected to remain between 40°C and 42°C, while the minimum temperature may stay around 26°C to 28°C. Even though the mercury will remain high, cloud cover and strong winds could make conditions more comfortable compared to recent heatwave-like days.

Recent weather patterns have already brought intermittent rain and thunderstorms to Delhi-NCR, helping reduce the intensity of the heat. The IMD expects this unstable weather pattern to continue, with cloudy skies, occasional showers, and gusty winds affecting several parts of North India.

Advisory for Residents

Residents are advised to stay alert for sudden thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds, especially during outdoor activities and travel. While the rain may not completely end the summer heat, it is expected to bring noticeable relief to Delhi-NCR on June 19.
