Delhi Metro is planning a new 2.3-km underground corridor between Aerocity and Terminal 1 (T1) of Indira Gandhi International Airport, and it is expected to be ready by late 2028. This short but important stretch is likely to make airport travel in Delhi much easier and smoother for passengers. It will be part of the Golden Line under Delhi Metro's Phase V(A) expansion plan.

Delhi Metro's New Corridor
At present, passengers going between Aerocity and T1 often depend on shuttle buses, which usually run every 20 minutes. The new metro link will provide a direct rail connection instead, saving time and reducing inconvenience. Once this corridor is completed, Terminal 1 will become a major interchange station because it will connect both the Magenta Line and the new Golden Line. This will allow passengers to travel more easily to different parts of Delhi without needing multiple road transfers.
Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor
The project will also turn Aerocity into a much bigger transport hub. Aerocity already has the Airport Express Line, and with this new corridor it will connect with the Golden Line as well. In the future, it is also expected to link with the Delhi-SNB-Alwar RRTS corridor, making it an even more important interchange point for people travelling within Delhi and the NCR. To handle this growing traffic, the Aerocity station is being designed on a large scale and will be much longer than a normal interchange station.
