Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), a new subsidiary of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), has started exploring international projects in Australia and the United Kingdom, according to a DMRC spokesperson. The company aims to take India's metro expertise to the global stage, and it will work under the Ministry

of Housing and Urban Affairs to handle international consultancy, construction, turnkey projects, and metro operation and maintenance services. DMIL was announced recently by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal during the 18th Urban Mobility India Conference in Gurgaon.
DMIL's Expansion in Southeast Asia & the Middle East
Apart from Australia and the UK, DMIL is also in talks with agencies in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, where several metro and transport projects are being planned. It will also take over DMRC's ongoing work for operating and maintaining the Mumbai Metro Line 3 and Chennai Metro Phase 2.
Delhi Metro's Vision
Officials explained that DMRC's main focus has always been building and operating metro networks within India. Hence, creating DMIL will allow DMRC to manage international ventures separately, without affecting domestic operations, thereby minimizing risks and providing a dedicated structure for global partnerships and collaborations.
Earlier known as Delhi Metro Last Mile Services Limited, the company was renamed DMIL on August 25. The change, approved in July, expanded its scope to include consultancy and project execution for urban transport systems, railways, and infrastructure in India and abroad.
Delhi Metro's Offerings
DMIL will offer a complete range of services, including feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), bid management, project supervision, and operational advice. It will also focus on staff training, energy efficiency, digital innovation, and policy advice for governments and agencies, strengthening India's global role in urban transport consultancy.
