To all the Cherry blossom lovers, Japan has got good news for you. This year, Japan's cherry blossom season started sooner than anticipated, and both locals and tourists are excited to see the breathtaking beauty of these tiny petals.
Sakura, or cherry blossoms, are a natural wonder that blooms and provides stunning views as well as a chance to partake in a long-standing custom. This year, the cherry blossoms began to bloom earlier, marking the start of a beautiful event. Normally, the season starts in late March or early April.
Hanami is a time when loved ones and coworkers get together to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms in parks, gardens, and other picturesque settings. There is a sense of celebration and joy in the air, as well as respect for the sakura's cultural significance and the beauty of nature.
The weather during this season is normally temperate and pleasant, despite periodic rainfall and high winds that could cause the cherry blossoms to wither & fall before their time. It is the perfect season to explore the outside and take in Japan's breathtaking beauty because of the bright blue skies, plenty of sunshine, and temperate weather visitors can anticipate.

The blooming time of Cherry blossoms:
The best time to see cherry blossoms bloom in well-known tourist destinations like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka is generally between the end of March & the beginning of April when they typically reach their peak season in Japan.
Around a week after they initially start to bloom, cherry blossoms in Japan reach their peak of bloom. "Peak bloom" does not mean that the flowers on the trees abruptly withered away. You'll still have access to these for about two weeks. But don't worry if you've already made travel plans for times other than these! The well-known flowers of Japan can still be enjoyed.
Where to see Cherry blossoms at their best in Japan?
In some areas south of Tokyo, cherry blossoms can be seen blooming as early as January. One of them is Kawazu town, which is roughly a three-hour drive from Tokyo and is located on the coast of the Izu Peninsula. Kawazu is home to the peculiar Kawazu-sakura cherry tree, which blooms about a month sooner than the typical cherry blossoms.

There are many lovely places in Japan to observe cherry blossoms, however, certain places are somewhat superior to others. For instance, wildlife enthusiasts frequent Tokyo's Ueno Park and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. Some other locations where you can enjoy hanami include Himeji Castle in Hyogo Prefecture, Hirosaki Castle in Aomori Prefecture, and the Philosopher's path in Kyoto.
Atami City is another such location, located around an hour & a half distant from Tokyo. In this location, Atami-sakura blooms next to a tranquil stream and does so about a month sooner than the typical Japanese cherry blossom.
Cherry blossom season often begins later than it does elsewhere in Japan's warmer northern regions. For instance, it is customary for sakura in Sendai (northeastern Japan) to bloom at the end of March.
