Residents across Chennai should plan their Friday in advance as the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has announced scheduled power shutdowns on June 19, 2026, to carry out routine maintenance and network-related works across multiple regions of the city.

While most areas will witness a five-hour power interruption between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, parts of St. Thomas Mount region are expected to face an extended eight-hour outage beginning at 6:00 AM.
The temporary shutdown is part of regular maintenance activity aimed at improving power distribution and reducing unexpected service disruptions.
