Many parts of Bengaluru will experience a planned power outage on Wednesday, November 19, which may affect daily routines. The power will be switched off from 10 am to 5 pm because BESCOM needs to carry out its regular quarterly maintenance work at important power stations.

List of Areas to be Affected in Bengaluru
The power cut will affect several areas, including Rajajinagar 1st to 6th Block, West of Cord Road (1st to 5th Cross), Mahaganapatinagar, Dr Modi Hospital Road, Manjunathnagar, Shivanagar, Agrahara Dasarahalli, Link Road, Prakash Nagar, KHB Colony 2nd Phase, Devaiah Park, Gubbanna Industrial Area, Nagappa Block, Brigade Gateway Apartments, Gayatri Nagar, Subramanyanagar, LN Pura, Raj Kumar Road, Dayanandnagar, Sai Mandir area, Harishchandra Ghat, Pipeline and nearby localities, Shani Mahatma Temple area, Rajajinagar surroundings, Palace Guttahalli, Muneshwar Block, Malleshwaram Swimming Pool area, and Maruti Extension.
Why is the Maintenance Work Carried Out?
BESCOM explained that the maintenance work will take place at the 220/66/11 kV NRS, 66/11 kV Palladium, and 66/11 kV Telecom Layout power distribution stations. Because these stations supply electricity to many neighbourhoods, the maintenance will cause a temporary power shutdown.
Advisory for Bengaluru Residents
Residents living in the affected areas are advised to prepare in advance. BESCOM has suggested charging all essential devices like phones, laptops, and power banks before the power cut begins. People are also encouraged to store enough water, since pumping systems may not work during the outage. The company said that this planned power cut is necessary to keep the city's electricity system safe, reliable, and efficient. Regular maintenance helps prevent larger power failures and ensures better service in the long run.
