Bengaluru will experience planned power outages in multiple city areas on Monday, 29 December, as maintenance work continues on the electricity grid. Supply will be disrupted in sections of West, North, and Outer Bengaluru, with some outages lasting until 5 pm.

The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company (BESCOM) is enforcing the shutdown and has urged residents to cooperate. The outages are part of regular repair and upkeep of electrical installations by Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and the distribution utility. On 28 December, BESCOM carried out a seven-hour blackout from 10 am to 5 pm in the vicinity of the 66/11 kV Byadarahalli and 66/11 kV Srigandhakal substations. Similar maintenance work is now affecting additional localities.
Bengaluru power cut schedule and affected areas
On December 29, planned outages will impact several residential colonies, apartments, and industrial sectors, split into two primary time windows. The first group of areas will experience interruptions from 10:00 to 16:00, while the second group will be without power from 10:00 to 17:00. Some neighborhoods are in the Malleswaram division, with others falling under different divisions.

From 10:00 to 16:00, power supply will be interrupted in several pockets of North Bengaluru. Affected areas include L&T Apartment, Jakkur Plantation, Yashoda Nagar, Century Apartment, Byatarayanapura, Amruthahalli, Sahakarnagar G Block, and also Shabarinagar, Canara Bank Layout, Thindlu Main Road, Sir MV Layout, Fortuna Centre Park, Thindlu Village, Sapthagiri Layout, Nanjappa Circle, L&G Enclave, Basavasamithi, Gaganeshwari Layout, Gurudarshan Layout, Venkataswamappa Layout, Dhanalakshmi Layout, and surrounding locales. In the Malleswaram division's C-6 sub-division, several neighborhoods will experience extended outages from 10:00 to 17:00. The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company lists Lottagollahalli, Lottegollahalli, Munihanumayya Colony, Munihanumaiah Colony, RK Udyan, RK Garden, Sanjeevappa Colony, MLA Layout, Netaji Nagar, Nethaji Nagar, Pipeline Road, Mattikere (Mathikere) among the affected zones. Also affected are JP Park, KP Park, Akkiyappa Udyan, Akkiyappa Garden, Mohan Kumar Nagar, BK Nagar, BK Nagara, LIC Colony, Pampa Nagar, 1st Main Road Yeshwanthpur, Yeshwantpur 1 Main Road, HMT Layout, HMT Main Road, LCR School Road, Gokul 1st Phase, Gokula 1 Stage, Gurumurthy Reddy Colony, KN Extension, SBM Colony, Brindavan Nagar, MRJ Colony, Mathikere 2 Main to 10th Main Road, VR Layout, Tank Bund Road and nearby areas.
Other Bengaluru power cut locations under maintenance
Beyond northern Bengaluru, outages will affect portions of western Bengaluru and nearby industrial corridors due to the same maintenance drive. The Challakere division will experience interruptions near Sanikere, Somaguddu, Gopanahalli, and the Sanikere branch region. Other affected areas include Bapuji Nagar, Kavita Layout, Ranganath Colony, Batarayanapura Aiyanna Shetty Layout, Ganapathi Nagar, Pride Apartment, along with Deepanjali Nagar, Patel Puttaiah Industrial Area, BHEL, Muttachari Industrial Area, Jyothi Nagar, Gangondanahalli, Ajith Sir Industrial Area, Vinayak Layout, Metro Layout, Nayandahalli, Batarayanapura Mysore Road, Shobha Tent Road, Guddadahalli Extension, Global Village Tech Park, RR Nagar and nearby localities. The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company has informed residents that these power outages are part of essential maintenance work on the transmission and distribution network conducted by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited. Similar maintenance activities have recently caused repeated outages across the city. Authorities have advised people in all the listed Bengaluru power-cut zones to schedule their activities around the announced times to reduce disruption to homes, offices and industrial sites.
