Bengaluru residents have been warned about a planned power cut on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has said the outage will happen because workers need to do urgent maintenance and repair work on key electrical equipment. This work is necessary to keep the city's power system reliable and safe, even though it may cause inconvenience during the day.

Power Cut in Bengaluru on 4 Feb
On February 4, power supply in parts of north Bengaluru will be switched off for about five hours, from approximately 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. This shutdown is planned around the Hebbal division, especially near the 66/11 kV L.R. Bande substation. The work has been ordered by the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) and carried out by BESCOM teams.
List of Areas to be Affected
Some of the main areas expected to face the daytime outage include Kavalbyrasandra, L.R. Bande Main Road, Gandhinagar, Chinnanna Layout, Ambedkar Layout, Anwar Layout, Cauvery Nagar, Sultan Palya, Ranka Nagar, Kanaka Nagar, and KHB Main Road. Other neighbourhoods such as Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, D.G.A. Halli, K.J. Halli, Adarsha Nagar, Periyar Nagar, Shampura, Kushal Nagar, Modi Road, Modi Garden, Doddanna Nagar, and surrounding residential pockets will also likely see the power off during these hours.
Officials have told people to plan for the outage, since electricity will be unavailable during a large part of the day in these zones. BESCOM expects to restore power by around 4 p.m. once the maintenance work is completed. Residents are also advised to keep the BESCOM helpline number (1912) handy in case of any issues once power returns.
