The southwest monsoon reached Kerala on June 4, officially marking the beginning of the rainy season in India. Since then, the monsoon has been gradually spreading to other parts of the country. Karnataka has also started receiving rainfall, with several areas experiencing heavy to very heavy showers.

Karnataka Rainfall Alert
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), many parts of Karnataka are likely to witness more rain in the coming days. Along with rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds have also been forecast in different regions of the state. The weather department has warned that some districts may experience intense rainfall, which could affect daily activities and travel.
The coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Residents in these areas have been advised to stay alert and take precautions during periods of heavy rain. Uttara Kannada district is also likely to experience gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kmph.
Apart from the coastal belt, several inland districts are also expected to receive significant rainfall. These include Belgaum, Gadag, and Haveri districts. The IMD has additionally issued alerts for heavy rain in Chamarajanagar, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, and Tumkur districts.
Bengaluru Rainfall Alert
In Bengaluru, the IMD has predicted generally cloudy skies and moderate to heavy rainfall until Friday. The city and nearby areas are also expected to experience strong winds with speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kmph. The maximum temperature in Bengaluru is likely to remain around 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may stay close to 21 degrees Celsius, bringing cooler weather compared to recent weeks.
With the monsoon becoming active across Karnataka, people can expect wet weather conditions, thunderstorms, and occasional strong winds in many parts of the state over the next few days.
