Bengaluru Metro Services have been Resumed at 5 a.m. on Wednesday After the Technical Snag on Tuesday

Namma Metro services on Bengaluru's Purple Line have returned to normal after a major disruption on Tuesday evening caused chaos for commuters. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said the technical problem at Cubbon Park Metro Station was fixed overnight, and full services resumed from 5 am on Wednesday as per the usual timetable.

Namma Metro Service Disruption on Tuesday

The trouble began on Tuesday evening when a train developed a technical snag at Cubbon Park station, one of the busiest underground stations on the Purple Line. Because of this fault, metro services between MG Road and Magadi Road had to be suspended for some time, which affected passengers travelling during the evening rush hour, when many office-goers depend on the metro to get home.

Namma Metro's Service Disruption Caused Inconvenience

As trains stopped running normally on the affected stretch, large crowds gathered at stations, especially around MG Road and Cubbon Park. Many commuters were stranded and had to wait for long periods without clear information in the beginning. To manage the situation, BMRCL arranged short-loop services on both sides of the disrupted section. Trains were run between MG Road and Whitefield on one side, and between Magadi Road and Challaghatta on the other side. This helped maintain partial movement on the Purple Line, but passengers still faced heavy inconvenience and confusion.

The disruption created one of the biggest metro travel problems seen in Bengaluru in recent times, especially because it happened during peak evening hours. However, BMRCL later confirmed that engineers had successfully repaired the fault and restored normal operations. The metro authority also thanked passengers for their patience and cooperation during the breakdown.

Bengaluru Metro Services Resumed

With the issue resolved, Purple Line trains are now operating fully again across the corridor, bringing relief to thousands of daily commuters who rely on Namma Metro for travel across Bengaluru.
