For many commuters in Bengaluru, reaching home or office after getting off a metro station is still difficult. Last-mile connectivity in the city is still developing, and feeder services run by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) are being expanded to fix the issue.

Feeder Service to Serve Key Locations
To support the increasing number of passengers using the Namma Metro Yellow Line, BMTC has launched a dedicated fleet of feeder buses to connect metro stations with nearby residential areas and business hubs. According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the feeder services will mainly serve three key locations: Hosa Road, Singasandra, and Kudlu Gate.
How will this Service Help?
The goal of the new services is to help commuters travel easily between metro stations and neighbourhoods that are not directly connected by the rail network. By offering reliable bus connections, authorities hope to reduce the use of private vehicles and app-based taxis, which often add to traffic congestion in the area.
Bengaluru Metro's Yellow Line Connectivity
The need for better connectivity increased after the Yellow Line, which runs between Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road and Bommasandra, saw a sharp rise in passenger numbers. Since mid-2025, train frequency on the line has improved, attracting more daily commuters. Officials say the success of the metro system depends on how easily passengers can travel the final distance to their destinations.
Feeder Buses Network
The new feeder bus network includes circular routes and direct connections to cover as many areas as possible. Two circular services start from Hosa Road Metro Station and pass through locations, including Central Jail, National Public School, Harlur, Agara, and Somasundarapalya. One route runs clockwise while the other runs in the opposite direction so that people from both sides of the corridor can reach the station conveniently.
Another route connects Hosa Road Metro Station to Carmelaram Bus Stand. It passes through Doddammara, Chikkanayakanahalli, and Doddakannelli, linking the metro with several residential areas that earlier had limited public transport options.
Feeder Buses Schedule
The bus schedules have been planned to suit office commuters. Services start around 6:00 AM and continue until late evening, with more buses running during morning and evening peak hours. This helps passengers easily match bus timings with metro arrivals, reducing waiting time.
