Residents in some parts of Bengaluru will face a temporary power cut on November 6, 2025, due to maintenance and upgrade work by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). The power outage will take place from 11 AM to 4 PM to improve the city's electricity system and ensure better service reliability in the future.

Affected Areas in Bengaluru
According to BESCOM, the areas affected will mainly include Kempanahalli substation limits, covering Chikkabanavara, Chikkabanavara Village, Aldamarandoddi, Tammenahalli, Byalakere, Vaderahalli, Kentenahalli, and nearby villages under BESCOM North Division-1. Power will be restored as soon as the maintenance work is completed.
Why is the Shutdown Carried Out?
The planned shutdown is part of a larger infrastructure improvement project. BESCOM is upgrading old systems by strengthening power lines, replacing transformers, and reducing voltage fluctuations in the city's northern areas. These works aim to provide more stable and uninterrupted electricity in fast-developing neighbourhoods.
Advisory for Residents
Residents are advised to plan their day to avoid inconvenience during the power cut. It's recommended to charge phones, laptops, and other devices beforehand, store enough water, and unplug sensitive appliances to prevent electrical damage. Using natural light and ventilation during the day and keeping flashlights or battery lamps handy for later hours can help manage the outage comfortably.
Those working from home can switch to mobile data or a hotspot if needed. After power is restored, it's best to wait a few minutes before switching on heavy appliances. In case the power does not return on time or fluctuates, residents can contact the BESCOM helpline at 1912 or reach out on X (Twitter) @BESCOMHelpline for assistance.
