Namma Metro is set to begin trial runs on the Green Line extension from Nagasandra to Madavara starting August 6, as per a senior official from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMR). The line is expected to be operational by the end of September or early October, according to BMRCL Managing Director Maheswar Rao.

This new 3.7-kilometre stretch, costing Rs 298 crore, will include stations at Manjunath Nagar, Chikkabidarakallu (formerly Jindal Nagar), and Madavara (BIEC). "We are conducting deep cleaning and various tests," stated a senior official. "The trial run will last for a month, and we plan to invite the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety for an inspection by mid-September."
Green Line Extension Benefits
Residents from Nelamangala, Makali, and Madanayakanahalli, as well as those entering Bengaluru from Tumakuru, will benefit from the new Metro services at Madavara. This extension will also be advantageous for visitors to the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre.
The original deadline for this project was August 2019. However, it faced multiple delays due to various reasons, including the prolonged completion of work at the Madavara station.
Upcoming Visit by Japanese Delegation
Nukaga Fukushiro, Speaker of Japan's Lower House, along with four MPs, will visit BMRCL officials on Wednesday morning. They are scheduled to take a short ride on the Bengaluru Metro from MG Road to Vidhana Soudha at 12:40 pm.
Since this is an extension line using trains already running on the Green Line, there will be longer intervals between trains. "The headway between trains will be longer," confirmed Maheswar Rao.
