To boost Ahmedabad's global image, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art convention, cultural, and business center at the Sabarmati Riverfront. This ambitious project, with an estimated budget of ₹792.50 crores, is set to transform the riverfront into a premier wedding destination and a hub for international business and cultural events. It will be India's largest cultural convention center located on the bank of a river which will make it more attractive and mesmerizing.

The new center will be located in the Paldi area, covering a vast space of 13,000 square meters. It aims to combine modern infrastructure with Ahmedabad's rich heritage, further enhancing the city's reputation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project will not only add a modern landmark to Ahmedabad but also redefine its identity on the global map.
Feature and World-Class Facilities
The center will feature a wide range of world-class facilities designed to cater to various needs. These include:
1- A 4,000 sq.m Exhibition Hall for large-scale events.
2- A 4,000 sq.m Convention Hall for high-profile business gatherings.
3- A Theater Dome with seating for 300 to 400 guests.
4- A 600 to 800-seat Amphitheater for cultural performances.
5- A 200-room Meeting Complex for smaller events and gatherings.
6- A 5,000 sq.m Cultural Plaza to promote art and heritage.
7- A 1,500-seat Performing Arts Theater for large cultural events.
8- Parking Space for 1,000 cars.

Additionally, ₹315 crores from the project's budget will be used to construct a luxury hotel. This will make the center an ideal destination for international visitors and ensure top-notch hospitality for wedding celebrations and global conferences.
Infrastructure Upgrades
To ensure smooth access, the development plans include upgrading the TP road connecting the center to Ashram Road. This improvement will help manage traffic flow and enhance the overall visitor experience.

The project is a joint effort between the Gujarat state government and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. The state government has pledged ₹500 crores, while the municipal corporation will finance the remaining ₹292.50 crores.
The budget also highlights a strong focus on cultural development. ₹82.5 crores have been allocated for the performing arts theater, while ₹66.25 crores will fund the construction of the theater dome. These facilities aim to make the center a significant cultural landmark in Ahmedabad.

This convention, cultural, and business center at the Sabarmati Riverfront is poised to redefine Ahmedabad's global presence. With its world-class facilities, strategic location, and modern amenities, it will become a key destination for weddings, international conventions, and cultural events.
