    Craignano

    Craignano is a popular tourist attraction situated on the Shimla-Naldehra highway in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a beautiful villa, situated at an elevation of 7700 ft above sea level. This villa was built by an Italian photographer called Chevalier Federico Peliti, who christened it in memory of his home town, Craignano. It is situated on a cliff and is surrounded by small streams and a forest of oak and pine trees. This beautiful villa has a sprawling lawn, night lamps and stone benches, which represent the architectural style of the colonial era. Craignano offers visitors a chance to visit the highest water lift in the world, which is situated at an altitude of 7657 ft. Presently, this water lift is used to supply water to Shimla and the adjoining areas. This place also provides travellers the opportunity to enjoy adventure activities like rappelling, rock climbing and fishing.

Situated at an elevation of 2498 m above sea level on Mahasu Peak, it is the former residence of Lord Kitchener.
