Mahabaleshwar Temple, Mahabaleshwar

The Mahabaleshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The name of Mahabaleshwar is inspired by Lord Mahabali, a diety believed to have great strength. The temple consists of two rooms – the inner God Chamber, and the outer Central Hall.

This holy centre is believed to have been constructed in the 16th Century under the dynasty of Chanda Rao More. The architecture of the temple is inspired by the famous Hemadant style.
