Connaught Peak, Mahabaleshwar

The Connaught Peak is the second highest peak at Mahabaleshwar. Nestled in the hills, at an altitude of 1400 m, the peak has been named in the memory of the Duke of Connaught, prior to which it went by the name of Mount Olympia.

The Krishna Valley and Venna Lake are two superb views you can get from this peak. Ajinkyatara, Rajgarh and Kamalgadh are a few other places espied upon from this point. The Pasrani Ghat in the east, while the fort of Pratapgad in the west is also clearly visible. With the entire Mahabaleshwar Valley in sight, this spot makes for a challenging course for trekkers and adventurers.
