Travel to the Tranquil Town of Hajipur

Hajipur town is the main headquarters of Vaishali district of Bihar and is known for its bountiful banana production. The town is famed as one of the most progressive towns of the state. The place is well known for mouthwatering fruits like litichies and bananas. Pataleshwar Mandir

The Pataleshwar Temple is one of the dazzling wonders in the city of Hajipur and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The existence of the temple has been known since ancient period and is believed that at one point of time Lord Shiva had appeared and decided upon to reside there forever in the form of lingam.

The temple is also adorned with images оf Lord Shiva which are worshipped along with the lingam by the devotees who seek blessings and grace. The chanting of hymns adds to the mysticism of the shrine. During Shivratri, the temple is ornamented attractively and devotees make offerings and pray for destruction of evils from their lives.

Mahatma Gandhi Setu

The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is one of the longest bridges in the world and has been built over River Ganga which connects Patna with Hajipur in Bihar. It is 5,575 mt in length and is supported by 48 pillars. The bridge has been an asset to speedy transportation and better traffic management in the entire region. The Mahatma Gandhi Setu is a striking example of architectural vision and spotless execution.

Nepali Mandir

The Nepali Mandir is located in the west region of Hajipur and is an exclusive Shaivite shrine. The credit of building this splendid temple goes to Mathbar Singh Thapa, one of the commanders of Nepal during the medieval period. The architecture of the temple is praise-worthy as it showcases the uniqueness of pagoda architecture style.

The aesthetics of the temple are given a new dimension by the fine wooden carving. The touch of Himalayan architecture with such an incredible finish triggers admiration from all those who visit it and the temple is surely one of its kind.

Ramchaura Mandir

Ramchaura Mandir is a landmark destination of Hajipur tourism. The temple is dedicated tо Lord Rama which marks his visit to Hajipur on his way to Janakpur. The temple is built where the footprint of the lord was embossed on the ground.

Legends proclaim that Lord Rama underwent his first head shaving ceremony here. The place witnesses colossal celebrations during the festival of Rama Navami. This religious place also has 'Bari Sangat' and 'Chhoti Sangat' which were visited by many saints in ancient period to offer prayers.

How to Reach Hajipur

By Air: Patna Airport serves the city of Hajipur and is around 23 kms away. It is well connected with all the major cities of the country.

By Train: Hajipur has its own railway station and is well connected with Muzaffarpur, Chhapra, and Barauni.

By Road: Hajipur is connected to other parts of India through national and state highways. Major highway is National Highway19 which touches the city and connects it to Chhapra that further joins Ghazipur city in Uttar Pradesh.
