Several trains operating to and from Chennai Egmore will have changes in their terminal stations between September 4 and October 15 due to ongoing redevelopment work at Chennai Egmore railway station. Some trains will be short-terminated at Tambaram, Mambalam or Chennai Beach instead of reaching Egmore.

Chennai Trains to be Affected
The Mannargudi-Chennai Egmore Express, which leaves Mannargudi at 10:50 pm, will terminate at Tambaram instead of Egmore from September 4 to October 13. Its return service will also start from Tambaram between September 5 and October 14, departing at 11:25 pm.
The Tiruchchirappalli-Chennai Egmore Rockfort Superfast Express, which departs Tiruchchirappalli at 10:35 pm, will terminate at Mambalam from September 9 to 15 and again from September 21 to October 14.
The Mumbai CST-Chennai Egmore Superfast Mail will terminate at Chennai Beach from September 12 to 15. During the same period, the Salem-Chennai Egmore Superfast Express (22154) will terminate at Mambalam instead of Egmore.
There will also be changes to the return service of the Salem-Chennai route. The Chennai Egmore-Salem Superfast Express will originate from Chennai Beach instead of Egmore from September 13 to 16. It will leave Chennai Beach at 11:30 pm and reach Egmore at 11:55 pm before continuing its journey.
Another train affected by the redevelopment work will be the Thanjavur-Chennai Egmore Uzhavan Express. The train will be regulated at Mambalam or Kodambakkam, resulting in delays during the construction period.
Passengers travelling on the Uzhavan Express can expect a 20-minute delay from September 16 to 19. The delay will increase to 30 minutes from September 22 to October 15.
Railway authorities have introduced these temporary changes to facilitate the redevelopment work at Egmore station. Passengers are advised to check their train's latest schedule and terminal station before travelling during this period.
