A new 16-coach Vande Bharat train has arrived at Gorakhpur Junction, bringing good news for train travelers in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. This semi-high-speed train will soon run on the Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow-Prayagraj route. It is currently going through cleaning and safety checks before starting service. This is part of a larger plan to improve train travel and offer better service to passengers in the region.

New Train to Replace Existing Route

At present, an 8-coach Vande Bharat train is running on the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj route. This train will soon be moved to a new route between Gorakhpur and Patna. Once the new 16-coach train is ready, it is expected to take over the Gorakhpur-Prayagraj service, although the exact date has not been decided yet. The new train will be tested fully before starting to carry passengers.

Improved Connectivity Between Gorakhpur and Patna

The 8-coach train, once moved, will run from Gorakhpur to Patna. This service will stop at several key locations, including Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, and Muzaffarpur. According to the current plan, the train will leave Gorakhpur at 4 AM and return by 9:30 PM. This new connection will help thousands of passengers by saving travel time and offering a modern travel experience.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke about this plan during his visits to Gorakhpur and Bettiah. He confirmed that this new route would begin soon, showing the railway's goal of improving travel for the people in these areas.

Modern and Comfortable Train Features

The Vande Bharat trains, available in both 8 and 16-coach versions, are fully air-conditioned and built using Indian technology. These trains offer faster travel and greater comfort. Sleeper versions of the Vande Bharat trains are also being developed to make long-distance journeys more comfortable.

The first 8-coach Vande Bharat train from Gorakhpur was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 7, 2023. It started by running up to Lucknow via Ayodhya and later extended to Prayagraj.

Future Plans for Expansion

The North Eastern Railway zone, based in Gorakhpur, is planning to expand further. There are proposals for 17 new trains, including seven more Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat trains. One special plan is to introduce a pink-colored sleeper Vande Bharat train between Gorakhpur and Delhi. New routes via Varanasi to Prayagraj are also in the pipeline.

The arrival of this new 16-coach train is a big step forward. With new routes and modern features, Vande Bharat trains will make travel easier and more comfortable for people in UP and Bihar.
