Southern Railway has announced several special trains between Chennai and Kollam to help passengers during the Sabarimala season. These weekly express specials will run between November 2025 and January 2026, ensuring convenient travel options for devotees heading to Kerala.
List of Sabarimala Special Trains
• Chennai Egmore - Kollam Express Special (Train No. 06111/06112)
Train No. 06111 will depart for Chennai Egmore at 11:55 PM every Friday from November 14, 2025, to January 16, 2026, and reach Kollam at 4:30 PM the next day. The return train, No. 06112, will leave Kollam at 7:35 PM on Saturdays from November 15, 2025, to January 17, 2026, and reach Chennai Egmore at 12 noon the next day. The train will have 2 AC 2-tier, 8 AC 3-tier, 6 sleeper, 4 general, 1 Divyangjan-friendly coach, and 1 luggage van.
• Dr MGR Chennai Central - Kollam Express Special (Train No. 06113/06114)
Train No. 06113 will start from Chennai Central at 11:50 PM on Sundays from November 16, 2025, to January 18, 2026, reaching Kollam at 4:30 PM the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 06114 will leave Kollam at 6:30 PM on Mondays from November 17, 2025, to January 19, 2026, and arrive in Chennai at 11:30 AM the next day.
• Dr MGR Chennai Central - Kollam Economy Special (Train No. 06119/06120)
Train No. 06119 will leave Chennai Central at 3:10 PM on Wednesdays from November 19, 2025, to January 21, 2026, and reach Kollam at 6:40 AM the next day. The return train, No. 06120, will depart Kollam at 10:40 AM on Thursdays and reach Chennai at 3:30 AM the next day. It will have 15 AC 3-tier economy coaches.
• Additional Weekly Specials (Train Nos. 06127/06128 and 06117/06118)
These trains will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays respectively, with similar timings and coaches to other services, providing more options for Sabarimala pilgrims.
Therefore, these weekly services aim to ensure smooth travel between Chennai and Kollam during the Sabarimala season.
