Kauleshwari Devi, Chatra

The Kauleshwari Devi Temple is a temple which is located on top of the Kolhua Hill of Chatra. The temple was built in the 10th century and is a popular pilgrimage site for the Hindus, Buddhists and the Jains alike.

The deity of the temple is worshipped by the koi community in Jharkhand. The place, however, has its mention in the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Climbing up the hill to reach the temple is a trekking experience in itself. During Vasanth Panchami and Ram Navami, the temple celebrates Kolhua Mela.
