Dhruva Teela, Bithoor

Dhruva Teela is supposed to be the spot where the child Dhruv is believed to have meditated while standing on one leg. He performed the penance to appease Lord Vishnu who was very pleased with his single-minded devotion and granted him the divine boon, which was that he would be immortalised as a shining star in the times to come.
