Harshat Mata Temple, Abhaneri

Harshat Mata Temple, located opposite the Chand Baori in the village of Abhaneri in Rajasthan, was built during the 8th or 9th century AD. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Harshat Mata who is worshipped as the Goddess of Happiness and Joy. Devotees visiting the temple believe that the Goddess is always happy and imparts her joy to them.

A three-day fair is held at the temple every year in honour of Harshat Mata, and a large number of devotees and merchants from neighbouring villages gather here on the occasion. The temple which is known for its stone architecture is now under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India.
