Kambalakonda is Wildlife Sanctuary, which is controlled by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department since 1970. The name of the Sanctuary is derived from the Kambalakonda Mountain. The sanctuary covers an area of 71 square kilometres of evergreen forest. Various species of flora and fauna is preserved in this sanctuary in their natural habitat. There are endangered Indian Leopards and other animals such as Russell’s Viper, Indian cobra, Indian Jackal, the Indian Muntjac and Asian Paradise flycatcher which are found here.
