Prakasam Barrage, Vijayawada

The Prakasam Barrage has been constructed across the Krishna river. The barrage has resulted in the creation of a panoramic lake. A beautiful view of this lake can be seen from the barrage. The structure is 1223.5 metres long and connects Krishna district with Guntur district. The Prakasam Barrage was constructed between the years 1852 and 1855. There are three canals of the barrage that run through the city. This makes Vijayawada look like a replica of Venice.
