Why Dudhwa and Pilibhit Tiger Reserves Are Becoming Must-Visit Spots for Nature Lovers

The Yogi government's focus on eco-tourism is showing positive results. More tourists are now visiting the Dudhwa and Pilibhit Tiger Reserves in Uttar Pradesh. Most of these visitors are from different parts of India. The state's Tourism Department now wants to attract more foreign tourists as well.

Promoting Reserves on Global Platforms

To increase foreign tourist numbers, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department recently promoted Dudhwa and Pilibhit Tiger Reserves at the Arabian Travel Mart. This event helped introduce these natural parks to international travel companies and visitors. The department also has plans for more global promotions in the future.

Tourist Numbers See Strong Growth

The number of visitors is already showing good growth. During the 2023-24 season, which runs from November to June, Dudhwa Tiger Reserve received 50,961 domestic and 234 international tourists. This season, from November to April alone, Dudhwa has already welcomed 44,070 Indian and 574 foreign tourists.

The Pilibhit Tiger Reserve has also seen strong numbers. Last season, it had 48,407 Indian and 143 foreign visitors. In the current season so far, the reserve has already received 35,395 Indian and 342 foreign tourists. These numbers are expected to grow more in the last two months of the season.

Better Services for a Better Experience

To make the visit more enjoyable for tourists, the state government is improving the facilities at the reserves. Anuradha Vemuri, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), shared that 90 trained nature guides have been placed at Dudhwa and 75 at Pilibhit. These guides have received expert training from The Nature School in Bengaluru.

Also, 30 local people have been trained in hospitality services. This helps in giving better service to tourists and also offers new jobs to local residents. This step is helping in both tourism development and local employment.

Eco-tourism Grows Across the State

The rise in tourist numbers is not limited to Dudhwa and Pilibhit. Other reserves like Amangarh and Ranipur are also seeing more visitors. This shows that people are becoming more interested in nature and wildlife. It also shows that the state's efforts to promote eco-tourism and religious tourism are working well.

The growing number of tourists is a good sign for the state. It helps the local economy and also supports wildlife conservation. With better services and more global promotion, Uttar Pradesh's tiger reserves are likely to become even more popular in the future.
