These lists we provide here are curious pickings to feed inquisitive minds. They are absolutely not atypical of Indian stories though. We do not either support or oppose any of the information given below. It's an unbiased factual stating of incredibly scary and mysterious places.
Jatinga Bird Mystery
It is said that birds commit suicide around here at Jatinga. Suicide? Yes! Come monsoons and the birds start flying on the foggy misty nights! They fly from the trees towards high beam lights and mysteriously fall on the ground. Suicide accomplished. Locals have tried a hand at helping these birds with no positive results.
Yaganti Nandi
Located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, this statue of Nandi is said to be growing still. [There's a similar statue in Bangalore which is bigger in size and has now forcefully stopped growing.] It is said that the day this statue of Nandi in Kurnool comes alive and starts running, time as we know it will come to an end.

Hanging Pillar
If this was a 16th century showcase of architectural skills, it is 21st century's mystery. At the Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, a pillar stands attached to the roof and detached from the ground. A modern day engineer tried to understand the engineering only to bring down one side of the pillar and subsequently parts of the roof as well...

Skeleton Lake
Skeletons are found at the bottom of the lake here at Roopkund, Uttarakhand. These human skeletons have explanations ranging from extremely scientific to religious. This lake lies at a high altitude and daring minds like to trek upto the lake. Carbon dating claims the origin dating as far back as 850 AD and others have it that it dates back to 9th century AD. The root cause however, is still a mystery..
Kodinhi Twin Tales
Remember the population control slogan that used to run around? "Hum do, hamare do"!? Well, this village in Kerala called Kodinhi has taken it a bit too seriously. Most births here come in twos. The same phenomenon is true of Igbo-Ora in Nigeria. But no relation to dietary habits has been found in Kodinhi as it is in Igbo-Ora.
