At a distance of approximately 100 km from Bangalore; Siddarabetta is a popular trekking spot to a lot of people. Trekking trail of Siddarabetta is easy to medium but, if you land up on a rainy day; it becomes a difficult one to be handled. With slippery rocks and the railings that sway just by the touch , you may end up monitoring every single foot-step. Sloping upward is always easier than climbing downwards.

Legend of Siddarabetta

Siddarabetta gained it's fame by the Yogis (Saints) who meditated for long years to attain salvation from worldly pleasures. The entire hill is filled with a lot of medicinal herbs. This place is an abode for a lot saints even today.

Things to do in Siddarabetta

The view
Standing atop a small mountain and looking down is a cliche; but looking at the path which you have traveled to reach your destination is an amazing feeling by itself. As you feel the cold breeze blowing all over your face; take a 360 degree view of the entire place freeing yourself from everything.

Meditation
This place is an amazing choice if you are a meditation lover; the rocks, the caves and the cool breeze whispering into your ears with great saints having meditated over years,; what a great ambiance it is to re-discover yourself.

Exploring the caves
You may take a walk inside the caves; there are local guides available to take you around the caves. There are rooms of saints who lived in the caves and a small temple dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Shiva. You may also visit the Ashram which serves food through-out the day. Undoubtedly, an adventure lover will certainly lose his / her heart to this amazing place.
