Tapola, the name itself is interesting, right? The place is even more magical. Usually, the untouched landscapes have that aura and serenity which is hard to find. Tapola, a small hamlet, with a few huts and a big lake is around 20km from Mahabaleshwar.

The Shivsagar lake right in the middle of Tapola strikes us like a foreign location. You have to make a journey through the remote jungles to reach this mystic place. Shivsagar Lake, a reservoir of the biggest Konya Dam is the major attraction of Tapola.

Trekkers often have to cross Tapola to trek towards the remote Vasota Fort. One has to take a boat ride across to join the trail of Vasota Fort trek. The forts in the dense jungles around Tapola is the favourite of many adventurers.

Konya Wildlife Sanctuary enclosing Tapola makes it one of the enchanting destinations in Maharashtra. If you are a water person, then you are heading to the right place.

Shivasagar Lake is the hub of water sports; Kayaking, boating and water scooters will keep you engaged here. Tapola is also a place for photography enthusiasts; the tranquil atmosphere can be pictured in a quite scenic way.

Tapola is surrounded by many tourists places; Kaas Plateau is one of the prime attractions around Tapola. It is one of the valleys of flowers found in India. One of the routes to Kaas Plateau cuts across Tapola.

If you happen to visit Tapola during monsoons, be prepared to travel through the slippery muddy roads and do know your footwear properly

It is nice to visit Tapola during the most monsoon season, as the rains would have rejuvenated the landscapes. October to January is the best time to go on a trip to Tapola.
