Taptapani literally translates as boiling water. It is a natural hot spring that offers an up close and personal experience as visitors can take a dip in the warm water. The high sulfur content in the water is the reason that it is known to have medicinal qualities. Believers from across the country come in search of cures for pains and skin ailments like eczema and scabies. The location of Taptapani is another reason for the influx of tourism here. The hot springs are nestled in the midst of the Eastern Ghats and has temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Kandi Mata, a tribal Goddess in the vicinity.

Aryapalli Beach is another popular beach in Odisha and it looks absolutely gorgeous during high tide at sunset. The beach is a quiet and charming place where visitors can relax and refresh. The best time to visit Aryapalli Beach is between the months of October and June. Surfing, sun bathing and swimming are a few leisure activities that can be relished by the tourists coming here.

Maa Tara Tarini Hill Shrine is considered as one of the oldest shrines of Maa Tara in the entire country. It is situated on the Kumari Hills on the banks of the River Rushikulya, just a few kilometres away from the coastal town of Gopalpur. Thousands of devotees visit the place on a regular basis in order to get the auspicious blessings of the Mother Goddesses. There are two Goddesses in the temple, Maa Tara and Maa Tarini. They are believed by the locals as the manifestations of Adi Shakti. The temple is also considered as one of the ancient Shakti Peethas of India. It is crowded by devotees who come to take blessing from the Godesses.

Sonepur Beach is considered by most of the tourists as one of the best beaches in the entire state of Odisha. This beautiful beach is located on the borders of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. There are many who believe the fact that Sonepur Beach is one of the biggest assets of Odisha with a natural beauty that has largely remained untouched by human civilization. There are motor boat services that take the tourists to the Sangam point of the river and Bay of Bengal. It is one of the most picturesque beaches in Odisha and travellers coming here can go on a horse ride on the beach.

By Air: The Biju Pattanaik Airport in Bhubaneswar is the closest airport to reach Gopalpur. The airport is well-connected with the other major cities of India.

By Train: The nearest railway station from Gopalpur is Berhampur at a distance of 16 km. The station is connected with all the major trains that pass through the entire state of Orissa.

By Road: Gopalpur is a very well-connected coastal town that you can easily reach by private cars and buses. Various private car services offer good deals to all the tourists who visit the place. The place is well-connected with other parts of the state as well.
