Odisha Tourism – The Serene Town of Chandipur

Chandipur is a small beach resort in the state of Odisha. It is a perfect getaway for those in search of peace and tranquillity.

Travellers come here to relax on the sun kissed beaches and also rejuvenate themselves by exploring the nearby hills.

There are not many attractions that can be listed down in this town but it is an explorer's paradise as the open region holds a lot of hidden treasures.

Chandipur Beach

The Chandipur Beach is a major tourist attraction and is a perfect place to head to and relax in the sand and enjoy the sea breeze.

Also you get to see red crabs and horse shoe crabs here. You can go boating or take a dip in the cool sea waters also.

Nilagiri

The small town of Nilagiri is famous for its Jagannath Temple. Devotees come here to pay homage to the god.

Tourist coming here can enjoy the scenic beauty of this region and also head on a trek to the nearby hills. It is a perfect place to rejuvenate and also get close to nature.

Remuna

The pilgrim site of Remuna has a temple called Kheerchora Gopinath Temple. It is dedicated to Lord Gopinath and is said to have been visited by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Devotees come here offering 'Kheer' to appease the higher powers. It is said that this sweet dish pleases him the most.

Tourists coming here can explore this old temple and also marvel at the architecture of this building.

Panchalingeswar Temple

The Panchalingeswar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that five Shivlingas mystically appeared here, and since then the region is considered sacred.

Devotees come here to take blessings from the lord. Tourists coming here can visit the temple and also take a stroll along the stream that flows close by.

It is a perfect place to spend time with your family as you can take a dip here and also try your hand at fishing.

How to Reach Chandipur

By Air: The nearest airport to Chandipur is the airport in Bhubaneswar which is 230 km away. It is well-connected with other major cities in the country.

By Train: The Baleswar Railway Station is well-connected to all the major rail junctions of the country.

By Road: Several buses to Chandipur are available from all the major cities in Odisha and West Bengal.
