Gujarat Tourism – A Tryst with Wildlfe at Gir

By Manoj

Gujarat is home to the last of the Asiatic Lions and these majestic beasts roam freely in the Gir National Park. The park which is the brain child of the Nawab of Junagadh, is the only place in the word where you can see the magnificent Asiatic Lions.

The park is thickly populated with forests, thus giving the lions a feel of their natural environment. People coming here are left amazed by the beauty of the place.

Asiatic Lions of Gir

The major tourist attraction of Gir National Park are the Asiatic Lions. These lions are bred nowhere in the world other than at the National Park here.

The dense forest coverings provide the best habitat for these endangered species. It is a haven for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts who come here just to see these majestic beasts.
