The northern most state of India, Jammu and Kashmir, is a magnificent land of pristine natural beauty. Everything that Mother Nature has to offer, right from snowy mountains to melting glaciers, Jammu and Kashmir is full of it. Its spectacular scenic beauty attracts so many tourists every year.
The undulating landscapes filled with greenery or snow, offer a great place for various activities. We all know about the adventures that can be done at Ladakh, the picturesque beauty of Pahalgam, the clear white snow of Gulmarg, and so on. But how much do we know about the offbeat town of Chatpal?
Tucked away in a quaint corner of south Kashmir, at about 90 km from the capital city of Srinagar, Chatpal is a town that is so beautiful that words fall short to describe it. Breathtaking stretches of lush greenery which are dotted with yellow and white wildflowers, aroma of pine trees, a clear blue sky and a fantastic, panoramic view of the majestic mountains-that is the town of Chatpal put in words.

Since all the limelight is usually stolen by popular places like Gulmarg and Srinagar, Chatpal remains an untouched beauty, where commercialisation is absent. It is a completely isolated location, that has very recently been discovered as a potential tourist spot by the government. Therefore apart from the pristine beauty of the valley, there are not many tourist places to visit in Chatpal.
However if all you need is a rejuvenating experience in the depths of nature, with zero interference, this is the town you're looking for. You can plan a romantic vacation with your loved one, fall in love with nature and with each other all over again!
Best Time To Visit Chatpal
The summer months of April to June are certainly the best time to visit Chatpal, since it has a pleasant climate where the temperature dances between 11 to 25 degree Celsius.
Winter can be brutally cold, but if you love witnessing snowfall, winter is the time to visit.

If you happen to meet the locals, don't miss out on a chance to chat with them. Their rooted lifestyles, modest and warm nature will open your eyes to a much simpler and forgotten time.
