By Rail: Dewas has its own railway station and hence, you can catch a direct train to Dewas Junction from Bhopal.

By Road: Dewas is settled at a distance of about 150 km from Bhopal and has a good road network. You can reach Dewas from Bhopal within 4 hours by road.

Route 1: Bhopal - Sehore - Dewas

Route 2: Bhopal - Tilawad - Dewas

Route 1 is the fastest and hence, preferable. Through route 2 you will take 1 hr 30 min more in comparison to route 1, through which you will take an approximate time of 4 hours to reach your destination. On your way to Dewas, you can take a break at Sehore and visit its beautiful places.

It is home to several interlocking basalt rocks which are believed to be the results of a volcanic eruption that happened millions of years ago. These basalt columns are eight to ten feet long. Spread over an area of 132 square kilometres in the Kannod tehsil of Dewas, Kheoni Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1955 and is home to several species of birds, animals and plants. The major species found here include leopard, blackbuck, laughing dove, barking deer and chital. It is also a reserved land for tigers. Hence, you can also spot a few tigers at Kheoni Wildlife Sanctuary.
