Located around 3km from Udaipur city, Ahar Archaeological Museum is one of the must visit museums of Rajasthan. Known for its architectural magnificence and sculptural brillinace that dates back to 1700BC, the museum is also of historical importance. You can find around 19 cenotaphs here where the Maharanas were cremated, and several figures belonging to the past that are worth exploring. A 10th century figure of Buddha and the rare collection of earthen pottery are among the unique pieces at the museum.
Ajmer Government Museum
Ajmer Government Museum holds a collection of 652 sculptures, 3986 coins, 149 miniature paintings, 84 inscriptions, several metallic objects, teracottas, pieces of art and other items that belong to the past of the place. Also called as 'Magazine', the museum is inside the historical fort of Akbar that belongs to the 16th century.
Albert Hall Museum
Albert Hall Museum is located in Jaipur, and is a visual treat. It is also the oldest museum of the state, and functions as the State museum of Rajasthan. The museum is one of the finest examples of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Also called as the Government Central Museum, it has a collection of artefacts like paintings, ivory, statues, metal sculptures, carpets and several works in crystal.
Alwar Government Museum
