The Flower Show 2025 in Ahmedabad has opened its doors, drawing visitors from across Gujarat and beyond. This year's show is a spectacular display of over a million flowers, spread across six themed zones and featuring more than 50 varieties of flowers and 30 stunning sculptures. Organized by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), this year's event stands out for its unique designs and interactive features, making it an unmissable experience.
A Design Marvel
For the first time since its start in 2013, AMC hired a professional design team led by AVN Architecture and Urbanism founders Hitesh Chhadva and Purvi Bhatt. The team worked alongside Rashi Khode, Jagdish Gorle, Manish Kumar, and Jaimin Dalsania to elevate the show's aesthetics. Together, they used over 10 lakh tray plants, 10 lakh bag plants, and 59,150 potted plants to create eye-catching floral displays.
"We've used 100 types of flowers, mainly seasonal ones that can withstand the winter. Cut flowers are replaced every 3-4 days, while fresh flowers are changed every 7-8 days," shared Purvi Bhatt. This careful planning ensures the flowers remain vibrant throughout the event.
Interactive Features
The Flower Show 2025 offers more than just beauty. The design team introduced exciting features like flower valleys, canyons, waterfalls, and structures inspired by animals and temples. These additions reflect India's cultural and geographical diversity. Audio guide scanners have also been placed near the floral displays, providing descriptions in English, Hindi, and Gujarati for a more enriching experience.
Visitor Experiences
People from cities like Anand, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, and Rajkot, as well as from other states, are attending the show. Anirudh Sharma and his wife Dimple, who traveled from Bhavnagar, were impressed with the displays but felt facilities like shading, seating, and drinking water could be improved.
One of the highlights for visitors has been the entrance, adorned with flower sculptures of popular cartoon characters like Doraemon, the Hulk, and Chhota Bheem. Nursery shops within the venue are another attraction, offering plants, succulents, seeds, and garden tools. Prices range from ₹100 to ₹1 lakh, with over 100 plant varieties brought in from Maharashtra, Valsad, and Pune.
